Accessibility
Last updated November 2, 2026
We want everyone to be able to use this site, from a three-year-old tapping pictures to a ninety-year-old reading without zoom.
Commitment and standards
Altshuler Inc. is committed to ensuring that this website is accessible to people with disabilities. Our target is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We use this standard to meet our obligations under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and its Integrated Accessibility Standards, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the European standard EN 301 549 referenced by the European Accessibility Act.
Conformance status
We consider this website partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA: we have designed it to conform fully, and automated testing with axe-core reports no violations on the pages tested at phone and desktop sizes. Full manual testing with every screen reader is ongoing, and some content may not yet fully conform.
Preferences the site detects automatically
The site reads the settings you have already chosen on your device and adapts without any action on your part:
- Reduce motion. All animation, rotating city photos and live video stop.
- Increase contrast. Secondary grey text is shown in full-strength colour.
- High contrast and forced colours (such as Windows Contrast Themes). The site uses your system colours, and controls keep visible borders.
- Reduce transparency. Frosted panels become solid.
- Dark mode. The site follows your light or dark appearance setting.
- Data saver. Live video does not load.
- Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. Treated as an opt-out of non-essential cookies, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Provisions for specific needs
- Blind and low-vision users. Pages use semantic headings, landmarks and labelled controls for screen readers such as VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS and TalkBack. Informative images have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology. Text meets contrast requirements and reflows without loss of content at 200% zoom and at 320 pixels wide.
- Deaf and hard-of-hearing users. No information on this site depends on sound. The live city video is muted, decorative and hidden from screen readers. All contact is in writing through our request form, so no phone call is needed. Any future video with speech will carry captions.
- Users with motor or dexterity disabilities. Every function works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a "Skip to content" link. Touch targets are at least 24 by 24 pixels. Nothing requires dragging, precise gestures or timed responses.
- Users with cognitive, learning or attention disabilities. Plain language, consistent navigation on every page, clear form labels with error messages in text, and no content that flashes more than three times per second. The rotating city photos are decorative; they pause while you hover over, focus or tap a city, and stop entirely when Reduce motion is on.
Alternative formats
On request, we will provide information from this website in an accessible alternative format or with communication support, at no cost, in a timely manner that takes your needs into account.
Third-party content
Embedded YouTube video is provided by Google and is outside our direct control. It is decorative and carries no information that is not available elsewhere on the page.
Feedback and contact
If you have difficulty using any part of this website, or wish to request an alternative format, please contact us and tell us the page and the problem. We aim to reply within 2 business days and fix issues quickly. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the accessibility or human rights authority where you live.
